Setu rapidly hired across several roles in 2021, and the team doubled within a few months. A challenge that arose from this was to familiarise new teammates with Setu’s vision, work and culture in a fully remote environment.
This is when we explored the idea of making a company newsletter and my focus was on creating delightful images that would tempt employees to read the newsletter.
The subject matter of each illustration was based on the edition’s hero article, which was either about one of Setu's products or upcoming company events. I collaborated with the authors of each article to create these.

Final newsletter mockups - we also wanted also print these newsletters as coffee table magazines for the office space.

Designed for an article on Setu's Whatsapp Banking APIs, which help people perform banking tasks such as receiving small value loans, creating bank accounts, paying loan EMIs etc. via a Whatsapp chat interface. The article explored the engineering effort that went behind creating the product.
I’ve depicted Whatsapp Banking as a boat, which may appear simple on the surface, but there’s a lot of backend (or underwater 🌊) work needed to create and maintain it.

Designed for an article on Setu's BBPS BillPay APIs, which allow bill payment for utilities such as electricity, gas, water etc. to be easily embedded into net banking apps.
The subject of the illustration is a person benefitting from BillPay. My idea was to depict the larger vision of the product, of how it will improve people’s lives by making access to basic amenities easier. The darkness and the shining light are symbolic of this 💡

This was designed for an edition focusing on Setu's Fixed Deposit product, which allows users to start an FD via Google Pay, without physically stepping into a bank.
The idea for the illustration was from a discussion with my colleagues about the product’s use cases - one of them being how delivery partners and gig workers would easily be able to open FDs, maybe even in between busy work days.

This was created during the peak of COVID's second wave in 2021.
At that time, most of us were overwhelmed by the pandemic, and morale at Setu was extremely low. As a stress relief, I found myself reading a lot of cute animal comics, and I discovered my co-workers doing the same. This illustration was drawn simply to be wholesome and pleasant. I also loaded it with easter eggs to put a smile on people's faces.
