Murf's colour palette was another concern as many of the brand's colours were too pastel to stand out against dark or light backgrounds and led to contrast issues when used with each other.

Approach taken
The visual style of illustrations and colour palette were set in stone, and it required multiple discussions to persuade the team of the need for any improvements. I took a "small incremental changes" approach to making enhancements. The first challenge was getting the team on board with using slightly more saturated shades of the brand colors to make the illustrations look less washed out. Once this was achieved, I started experimenting within the existing visual style’s constraints to create illustrations that looked more refined and polished.
